All residents of Whitehorse may provide their input into amendments to City policy and bylaws pursuant to Section 294 (1) of the Municipal Act. Interested residents may comment on proposed amendments through a verbal or written submission.

Submissions 

*NOTICE* - Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, Council Chambers is closed to the public. All submissions for public hearings should be sent to publicinput@whitehorse.ca. All emails will be directed to Council for their consideration. Submissions will be accepted until the close of the public hearing. Any emails received this email address, or to Mayor and Council directly, will be posted on this page as part of the public record. 

Additionally, Planning and Sustainability staff are currently unavailable to discuss amendments in person. Please email publicinput@whitehorse.ca if you have further questions on an amendment.

This page of the City’s website is maintained, in part, to facilitate public hearings during the COVID-19 emergency. It is intended as an alternative for the public to attending in person during a Council meeting to make a submission or to listen to the submissions of others. It is also intended to discharge the City’s obligation to make its decisions and carry on its work at a public meeting. The public hearing submissions posted are the work of the persons who have made the submissions. Under no circumstances should these submissions be construed or interpreted to be the opinions, positions, work or statements of Council, or any of the Council members or any of the City’s employees.

Public Hearings are held at the City Council meeting at 5:30 pm in City Hall Council Chambers on the date specified. To speak to a proposed amendment at the Public Hearing, please show up by 5:30 p.m. Written submissions are due by noon on the day of the Public Hearing. Send written submissions to:
